Basketball legend Michael Jordan made headlines in Greece this summer—not for his iconic jump shot, but for his low-key island vacation, a glamorous brand event, and a jaw-dropping €10,000 tip at a high-end seaside dinner.
The six-time NBA champion visited the Greek islands with his wife, Yvette Prieto, aboard a luxury yacht, making stops in Spetses, Corfu, and other destinations in the Ionian and Saronic Seas.
A Star-Studded Night in Athens
Capping off the trip, Jordan hosted a private dinner in Kavouri, a coastal suburb of Athens, for his brand initiative, titled “Board of Greatness.” The event gathered high-profile athletes and friends of the brand, including Luka Dončić, Carmelo Anthony, and Bam Adebayo.
The dinner, held at a top-tier seafront restaurant, blended fine dining with casual luxury. According to reports, Jordan left a €10,000 tip, impressing both guests and staff with his generosity.
Greece as Inspiration
In a short speech, the NBA icon expressed admiration for Greece, describing it as a source of “beauty, history, and inspiration” for an upcoming apparel line. “This place reminds us what greatness feels like,” he said, according to event attendees.
